The Author

Creative Producer / Animation Director and Author, a veteran of the Indian Animation Industry, Ranjit (Tony) Singh has over 30 years of practical and hands-on experience and has played a multitude of diverse roles aross the digital media and entertainment industry. As a creative director, he founded one of the leading animation and vfx studios of India in 1995. Since 2001, he has been an independent creative producer on numerous turn-key projects in the advertising space. His diverse experience in production in-depth knowledge of animation across all media, enabled him to offer studio management consults to some of the largest animation studios in India. He has designed and implemented production tracking and management systems for small and large units and continues to offer his expertise to projects and organisations that require professional management with creative sensibilities.

A founder trustee of the largest non-profit voluntary body, established in 2001 to further the cause of animation and art awareness in the country – The Animation Society of India, he is an avid teacher and has personally mentored scores of students and teachers of animation and design.

His students are from various disciplines including Management Studies, Design (Product, Interior, Industrial, Communication, Fashion), Visual Communication, MA-Arts, BA (Fine Arts), BDes, Photography, UI/UX Design, Architecture, Animation, Gaming and Visual Effects.

A pioneering author, his first book – The Art of Animation Production Management was commissioned by Macmillan Publishers in India and the paperback edition was released in 2013. There are many firsts associated with this prestigious project: this is the first book on an animation related subject from India, it is the first book dedicated to the subject of animation production management published anywhere in the world; and it is a first by an Indian artist.

Tony is a regular speaker at international and national conferences and has written several papers and articles that have appeared in leading print an online publications.
